I have matched about once per week though haven't made it a ritual yet. Never occurred to me to add vanilla extract. Thanks for the idea!🙏🏽

I’m not a fan of matcha but after reading your post I’m feeling I should try it. I usually force myself to drink iced coffee once spring hits because then I feel like summer is coming soon. This spring has been crappy, too many cloudy, rainy days. I always need some kind of lift too.

You will have to tell me what you think if you try it! I recommend getting it with a little sweetener in it first, since it can be pretty bitter. This spring has been crappy, we deserve an iced beverage as a little pick-me-up!

This reminds me of when I first started brewing my coffee in a Chemex (pour over method). Due to it being much more active than drip, it became a ritual for me that I looked forward to, and was the reason I switched to that method. Sadly it feels much more automated now because I’ve done it for so long, but you’ve inspired me to look at it anew. My boyfriend actually called me out for multitasking while making us coffee the other day, and now I realize I should just be present while I do it. :)

Thank you for the reminder. So glad you’ve found this little ritual, I love it! (read while sipping on warm tea 🙃🍵)

I've seen that method and can totally understand how it has become a ritual for you! I'm honored this post could help you see it with fresh eyes. Hopefully that makes it more enjoyable as well 🤗

Matcha is one of my favourite weekend treats, especially with brunch :) I feel like I don't need coffee during the weekend, nobody needs me fully alert and awake anyway. Thanks for sharing the recipe (I never tried it with coconut milk, I have to say I am an oat gal)

Thank you for reading, Barbs! Brunch and matcha is the perfect combo! Weekends are for relaxing, anyway, you're doing it right.

Coconut milk tends to mask some of the bitterness, which I appreciate, but I love oatmilk in my matcha too, especially with a little lavender syrup 😋

lavander syrup you say?! I am intrigued and wondering where can I even find it.

Yes! It's essentially a flavored simple syrup I found at my local spirit shop, but you can also make it. If you can't find a pre-made one, you could try making it when lavender blooms in July. Here's a quick recipe for reference: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/247477/lavender-simple-syrup/ You'll have to let me know if you try it!

Shoot, I forgot you're in Australia 🙈 Maybe you could buy some off a local coffee shop in the off season!

I have never wanted a matcha before in my life... but now, I kinda do?

You should! But be sure to try it with a some sweetener in it first, it does have a bitter taste (different from coffee) that I don't want to scare you off! haha
