I enjoyed your reflections as well. It reminded me that the simple things in life literally can offer the most pleasure and that human contact in whatever form truly can lift oneโs spirits.
Okay now I have to read this mormon piece because ME TOOO, I have met an inordinate amount of mormons in my life despite being from rural ohio ๐
But I love this reflection so much! I feel exactly the same as you about working from home. I love it, it's so wonderful, AND sometimes I can feel myself going crazy from it. Those moments you can step outside and connect with people (and it all falls into place, like your freelance work has!) are so special and important
Omg, I'm so glad to meet another Mormon magnet!! We will have to swap storiesโI've got to know how they found you all the way out in Ohio haha
The connection is key! It can really help break up the days and bring you back into yourself and the world. That's what's so nice about working from home, you get to do so on your own terms ๐
Lauren, I walk my daughter to school as many days as possible (usually 2 to 3 days /week). It's 20minutes down, and then 15 minutes back up. It's the same road everyday, and your piece made me remember that recently I've tried to find something new each day in the landscape/surroundings. It feels like some kind of meditation, if that makes sense. Keep walking, keep writing !!
I love that you get to walk your daughter to school, Amande! That's so special. And turning the familiar route into a walking meditation is even better! Have you heard of or tried "color walks," where you pick a color and then try to look for things along your route that are that same color? That could even be a fun thing to do with your daughter as you go!

They really are. Thank you for reading, Kathy!

Excellent suggestion :) Thanks ! I'll try it soon !!
Love this piece!
Thank you for reading, Maggie!
Walks really do wonders, AND lots of doctors are dickheads, unfortunately. Your last footnote was spot on.
